Choir practice is in the fireside room, Wednesdays at 5:15 PM
(During the school year)
In our history and by our
spiritual gifts, music has always been an important ministry of our
church. We use it to bring praise and inspiration in worship, and to teach
our doctrines by song. We welcome all who would like to join us
in performing opportunities.
Eureka Chamber Music Series brings our
community the gift of great classical music performed by international concert
artists, from Italy, Germany, as well as the USA. Click here for more
information.
Chancel Choir - Directed by Sue
Mullen, the choir sings both classical and modern works, twice each
month during the school year.
Calvary Connection
- The men's choir group at
Calvary provides an upbeat rendition of that "old time religion" with a
barbershop flavor. They sing on the first Sunday of the month and on
special occasions. While numbers vary, they always try to bring four part
harmony to the congregation, along with their love for Jesus; for as the song
says, "He keeps me singing."
Soloists - Each sunday worship has a special
music offering by gifted singers and players of all instruments.
Organist -
Laurene Carlson plays our classical Rodgers organ during worship.
Pianist -
Laurene and Nancy Call play during our worship service.
Our Hymnals -
Our Hymnal is the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (2006). Whenever a month has five
Sundays, we use the Other Song Book on the fifth
Sunday .
Assisting Ministers - A team of people rotate
as liturgical assisting ministers, singing the liturgy each Sunday. The
pastor is the "presider" in our worship.
Variety Show -
Members and supporters of the Eureka Chamber Music Series give a show twice a
year as a gift back to the congregation for its free hosting of the six
concerts.
